The NAPPS Physical Health Education (PHE) scheme of work is focused on promoting physical fitness, health awareness, and overall well-being among young learners. It aims to teach and promote lifelong habits that contribute to physical, mental, and emotional health.
With this subject, children are introduced to the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle early in life. Topics like timing and general body exercises are taught in the class using posters, video clips, etc.
Physical topics like hopping, somersaulting, throwing, and catching balls are taught outdoors in a safe, open space. Here the teacher demonstrates and encourages her pupils to follow her steps.
Physical Health Education also introduces little rhymes to the children. They learn how to sing and dance along to the music.
At the end of Nursery 2, children would have learned the need for regular exercises and simple exercises they can do at home. This subject will help contribute to the physical and mental fitness of young learners.
