The scheme of work for Primary 5 is obtained from The Lagos State Government Ministry of Education’s Unified Scheme of Work for Primary School. This scheme outlines the curriculum for students in their fifth year.

This scheme of work is structured in detail about what subject will be covered throughout the academic year. This will ensure that the pupils are taught what is suitable for their age and class. This scheme will make what is being taught in all the schools in Lagos state to align with each other.

Primary School 5 Subjects

There are thirteen subjects in the Lagos State Unified Scheme of Work for Upper Basic (Primary 5). Three broad subjects comprise these 13 subjects: Prevocational Studies (home economics and agriculture), National Values Education (social studies, civic education, and security education), and Basic Science and Technology (basic science, information technology, and physical and health education).

These are separate subjects that have been combined to create one. Essentially, Primary 5 covers 21 topics in all, including Arabic, which is an elective. The following is a list of the topics taught in Upper Basic Primary Class 5:
