The WAEC Christian Religious Knowledge syllabus is a comprehensive guide that provides all you need to know about the exam.
It covers a wide range of topics, including biblical narratives, moral teachings, church history, Christian ethics, and other topics you will be asked in your exams.
You need to read this article if you’re writing the Christian Religious Knowledge exam in WAEC. This page will provide you with recommended Syllabus, textbooks, and tips to excel in your exams.
There will be two papers, Papers 1 and 2, both of which will be composite papers to be taken in one sitting.
PAPER 1: Will consist of fifty multiple choice objective questions all of which must be answered within 1 hour for 40 marks.
PAPER 2: Will consist of nine essay-type questions. Candidates must answer four questions within 2 hours for 60 marks.
The questions will be arranged in sections:
Section A: Themes from the Old Testament – four questions.
Section B: Themes from the Synoptic Gospels and the Acts of the Apostle – three questions.
Section C: Themes from selected Epistles – two questions.
Candidates will be required to answer four questions in all, choosing at least one question from each section and the fourth question from either Section A or Section B.

Some common mistakes include rushing through the exam, not reading questions carefully, and needing to manage your time well. Remember to cross-check your work and make your writing legible enough.
Make sure you get plenty of rest the night before the exam. On the day of the exam, arrive early so you have time to relax and review your notes and when it’s time for the exam, be sure you read each question carefully and answer to the best of your ability.
The best way to prepare for the exam is to study the syllabus above, go through past questions and read the recommended texts.
To get at least a C6 which is a pass, you must score at least 50%.
If you have a question or concern while taking the Christian Religious Knowledge exam, you should raise your hand and wait for the invigilator to come to your seat. You can then ask your question or express your concern.
The purpose of the Christian Religious Knowledge exam is to assess students’ knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith, including its beliefs, practices, and history.
Time management is a very important skill for every exam. Ensure you do not spend too much time on a particular question. Once you’re not sure of a question, leave it and answer others before going back to i. cross-check
