Primary 1 Physical and Health Education supports the health and wellness of the pupils through selected topics that encourage the pupils in sports, healthy eating and good hygiene, health and wellness, etc.
They will learn how to look after their bodies through healthy eating and good hygiene, games, safety rules, etc. This subject will require demonstration to ensure proper assimilation and the pupils will also be required to participate in the different activities in the scheme.

4 | Movement : Catching | By the end of the lesson. pupils should be able to; i. catch the object thrown to them correctly e.g ball; ii. demonstrate the catching of objects correctly: iii. describe the manipulative pattern of catching and striking. |
5 | Safety | By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to; i. explain safety rules in movement ii. describe basic rules in manipulative movement eg. catching, throwing and striking. iii. identify the rules on playground. |
6 | Sport and Game Athletics | By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to; i. explain the meaning of athletics; ii. describe short distance races athletics; iii. demonstrate concept of short distance races in athletics 50m dash; iv. state the health benefits of short distance races (running). |
