Home » Primary 5 Scheme of Work » Primary 5 Islamic Religious Studies (IRS) Scheme of WorkIslamic Religious studies are designed to be the foundation for young Muslims to build their understanding and practice of Islam. The pupils would be exposed to the basic tenets of Islam, Islamic practice and manners, some chapters in the Holy Qur, and how to build Islamic characters.
Some of the topics covered in this class include; Suratul Alaq, belief in the life after death, Suratul Lukman, concept of Tawbah, the role of some women mentioned in the Qur’an, shirk, effect of intoxicant and drug abuse, Ayyatul Kursiy, ghusl, the four founders of Islamic law, zakah and its significance etc.
The educator should make sure the pupils memorize and know the meaning of the chapters of the Qur’an taught in class, and the educators should also encourage the pupils to apply the lesson in their daily lives.
