About Basic Science Scheme of Work for Primary 4

Basic Science for Primary 4 is a subject that educates the pupils on the fundamental scientific knowledge needed for their age and level. In this class, the pupils would be taught topics that will make them identify the features of life and physical science in their environment.

The topics covered in this class are; changes in nature, changes in plants and animals, our weather, water, soil, mixture, buildings, vehicles, forms of energy and the digestive system. All these topics are to be illustrated while being taught, and the educators should allow the pupils to do the same. Like the plants, the pupils should be asked to identify, plant and nurture their plants.

-Meaning of Weather
-Factors affecting weather
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
i. state the meaning of weather;
ii. analyze the factors affecting the weather;
iii. relate weather conditions to changes in factors
affecting the weather. sun, cloud, wind,
temperature, etc.
