Home » Primary 4 Scheme of Work » Primary 4 Yoruba Language Scheme of WorkYoruba is a subject designed to draw the pupils closer to their culture and tradition. This subject educates them about their indigenous language in a formal setting highlighting the importance of the Yoruba language and culture in the community . They will be taught to put what is being spoken at home in writing and they will also know how to read them.
The scheme for this class covers various aspects such as; The principles of good conduct, Yoruba folklore, analyzing characters and themes in folktales and appreciating value, traditional festivals, praise poetry, traditional Yoruba music and dance form, comprehension skills and developing fluency in written expression.
The educator should communicate in Yoruba to the pupils while teaching them and the pupils should be encouraged to do the same. This will enhance the fluency of the language being taught.
